LMH0387 Extended 3G reach mode mechanism

I’d like to know the mechanism of the Extended 3G reach mode. Does it control a eq. gain ? Also does it must turn off when the device receive , SD, HD and short cable 3G ? My customer has to use the mode because of poor 3G performance(worst case is 30m) in their system. So they want to know the mechanism in detail.

    The extended reach mode allows for additional cable reach at 2.97 Gbps at the expense of slightly higher output jitter. The extended 3G reach mode provides 15m of additional Belden 1694A cable reach, with an increase of output jitter at this longer cable length of 0.05 to 0.1 UI.
    The extended 3G reach mode is accessible via bit 2 of SPI register 00h. Given the extra jitter, please let me know if this is what the customer needs to do.

    - When the device receive SD, HD rate signal, Is it need to turn off the Extended 3G reach mode ?

    Internal to the part, there are two signal paths: One for HD and 3G and another for SD. So for SD we need to turn off the extended reach mode.
