Need information about these device BER(tlk2711a,tlk6002)

My transmition system used TLK2711a and TLK6002 as transiver.

I used custom soft to caculate system BER(Bit Error Rate);one board send and another receive.

The experiment are much lower than my view.The couple of  boards using tlk2711a is 3.37*10^-9.

The ones using TLK6002 is 1.31*10^-9.

I want to know these device BERT DATA.(I did not find in their datasheet)

These data can help me to acknowledge my system ideal performance.

    1. Would you like to know how calculate the BER in the TLKs or how BERT operates in TLKs?
    2. 3.37*10^-9 & 1.31*10^-9 are data rate that your system operating in your application?

  • 1. I want to know the Baud error rate test result in TLK2711a and TLK6002.In my view , the experiment may used BERT equipment like aglient N5980A;

More detail about my experiment : The couple of board fixed tlk2711a ; Each of boards have a low jitter crystal.The frequence of crystals are 125MHz;Used a board as data sources, transmit data to another by tlk2711.The receiver board gets these data and send them back to data sources board by its tlk2711a.In data sources, I design a soft in fpga,It woud caculated the data Error.It may called SER(symbol error rate).After data link synchornized.Compared transmit 16bits-data to received 16bits-data.3.37*10^-9 is the soft caculated.
    The tlk6002 experiment similar.

    The TLK21711A has a built-in BERT function in the receiver side that is enabled by the PRBSEN. It can check for erros and report the errors by forcing the RKLSB terminal low.

    PRBSEN (I) ==> PRBS test enable. When asserted high results of pseudo random bit stream (PRBS) tests can be monitored on the RKLSB terminal. A high on RKLSB indicates that valid PRBS is being received.

    RKLSB (O) ==> K-Code indicator/PRBS test results. When RKLSB is asserted high, an 8/10-bit K code was received and is indicated by data bits RXD0-RXD7. When RKLSB is asserted low an 8/10-bit D code is received and is presented on data bits RXD0-RXD7.
    When PRBSEN is asserted high this pin is used to indicate status of the PRBS test results (high = pass).

  • I used builting-PRBS as board self loop-back test.I want to know the BERT experiment about these devices.

    The result should be N*10^-12 ,N*10^-11 or Less than N*10^-12,It should not be simply passed or faild.

    TI have not implement any simlar experiment datas about these devices!?(TLK2711 TLK6002)
