TUSB7320 - Normal current consumption range

Hi Team,

Please let me ask you TUSB7320 MIN/MAX value of the current consumption . Customer requests us the guideline (threshold) how to judge whether the device is normal or damaged when monitoring the current consumption.

Could you give us the information if you have any test data of MIN/MAX current consumption for each power pin or each voltage ?

Or it would be helpful if you could advise us the estimate range of current consumption which could be considered as normal.

Best Regards,
Kawai

  • Hello,

Datasheet Sections 11.5 and 11.6 shows power consumption values that can be taken as a reference.

  • Hello Elias-san,
There is only typical value in the datasheet and also has a typo.
We need the "Minimum" and "Maximum" value of the current consumption for each voltage rail to judge whether the device is normal or not.
If you don't have the test data, could you please give us the information of the target design of the power/current consumption for each voltage rail ? It could be estimated range like, +/- 10% of TYP value.
    Best Regards,Kawai
  • Hello Kawai-san,

Please provide an email address and I can share some measurement results.

  • Hello Elias-san and Team

Could you please provide me the information to my email address ?

We are asked for "Minimum" and "Maximum" current consumption range for the device normal operation. The datasheet only has the Typical value.

    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Kawai

  • Hello Kawai-san,

We don't provide maximum numbers as they are very dependent on the implementation, the power consumption is affected by the layout, voltage range, temperature, operating system, device under test, etc.

The maximum values we can measure on an EVM could not apply to Customer's implementation, that is why only typical numbers are provided .
