XIO2001IPNP PCI bridge not working issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XIO2001

Hello, all TI partner .

Now I am trial testing XIO2001IPNP on our original chipset, which configuration is detailed as below;

INtel PCH <=> PEX 8619 PCIe switch <=> XIO2001IPNP <=> PCI 104 EXPRESS TYPE B CONNECTOR

Then the PCI bridge could not be recognized on CPU on startup sequence.

My concernment is whether XIO2001IPNP could support PCIe ver.2.0 (2.5Gbps transmission) from Host.

Now we saw the same question from TI E2E community:

http://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/digital_interface/f/130/t/216587

We found some abnormal waveform on the voltage on VDD_15_COM pin,

The voltage after power on is 1.5V, but it increase to 2V after PERST# rised.

Now produce 24 PIC mainboard about 60% mainboard has the issue.

60% mainboard abnormal waveform on the voltage on VDD_15_COM pin(from 1.5V to 2V after PERST# rised.),

I tried to replace another IC(XIO2001IPNP) on our board, but the issue didn't solved it

Thank you in advance for your information.

 Best regards.

  • Hello,

    Please share your schematics for review, if you don't want to make them public you can post your email address and I will contact you.
    The XIO2001 do support PCIe2.0 Gen I
    Please provide scope captures for the power-up sequence as well as PCI Register dumps and/or EEPROM file if you are using it.
    Does the failure units are never recognized by the PCH?
    What is the PCH version?
    What PCH's PCIe port are you using? Is that a dual-function PCIe port?

    Regards
