TUSB9261 firmware release notes / change log

Dear support-team,

I noticed that there's a new default firmware version 1.05 for TUSB9261 available. Currently, we are using version 1.04 in our embedded device (TUSB9261 is connected via USB3.0 hub to a SigmaDesigns SX6). Now I like to know what have changed from v1.04 to v1.05 to decide whether to update or not. I have downloaded and 'installed' the firmware package already, but unfortunately there's no change log included.


Background: We have complains about the TUSB9261 sometimes not being recognized by the SX6 while the hub is there. However, these cases are very seldom and at the moment I can't say which part is responsible: SX6 host, hub chip (SMSC 5534b) or the TUSB9261. But maybe the firmware update can help?

    I would also like to know what the v1.05 change history is because I can no longer get UAS to work with this version, this worked in v1.04.

    Hello Christian,

    These are the changes implemented in the FW 1.05

    v1.05 - 03Oct2014
    -----------------
    - Updated fixed format sense info for ATA PASS-THROUGH commands per SAT-3r02 spec.
    - Increased delay at the end of usb_hal_disconnect() to 500ms to ensure device disconnect is detected by host.
    - Added parsing of SATA model number info to extract Vendor ID instead of using SAT-3 spec Vendor ID of "ATA" for standard inquiry response. If the drive is not ready, "TI-DSG TUSB9261" will be returned for vendor and product ID.
    - Forced UAS to be disabled regardless of external descriptors until compatibility issues can be resolved.
    - Updated SW license terms and added manifest.
    - Updated build scripts to use CCS v5.1.8 toolchain.

    Could you explain about the following questions regqarding the FW1.05?

         --> What is the parameter of "usb_hal_disconnect()"?
                      My customer has evaluated TUSB9261 with the FW of v1.04 since 2014.
                      They have a concern whether they should update FW from v1.04 into v1.05.

    - Updated SW license terms and added manifest
         --> Where should we check to confirm contents of the above things? 
                       They want to confirm what are updated.
