Magnetics Interface for DP83867

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83865

Hello.

About DP83867, the connection between the transformer, is termination resistor really unnecessary?

Refer to DP83865 about a PCB design, but want to know a right approach in the connection being different for DP83867.

In addition, please teach it if there is the pulse transformer which you use it in DP83867 and have evaluated.

Regards.

K Hashi.

  • No external termination resistors are required for the DP83867 magnetics interface. In our initial testing, we have evaluated the DP83867 with the Pulse H5007NLT discrete magnetics and with the Wurth 7499111000A RJ-45 with integrated magnetics.

  • Patrick-san,

Thank you for your quick answer.

By the way, my customer is will soon designing pcb artwork for DP83867.
They want more information or document for Design.
Please teach us useful datasheet or application note for designing DP83867 if you know.

Thank you again for your help.

  • Hi Patric,

We are working on a PCB layout that includes DP83867. We are a bit lost with right way to connect H5007NLT to  DP83867,

since evalauation board use RJ-45 with embedded magnetics.

Kindly reply with schematics describing the way you connected H5007NLT to DP83867.

Our connection is attached below. We will appreciate it, if you'll review it.

    Best Regards,

    Tam
