Hi,

I was wondering if this phy supports 100Mbps RGMII. There is no timing diagram for this mode on page 77 of the data sheet and Table 42 does not indicate that it's a valid controller i/f for 100Base-TX. The confusing part is that in section 6.5.1 in note 4 under the table, it says

"For 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps, Tcyc will scale to 400 +- 40ns and 40ns +-4ns". This would lead me to believe that 100Mbps RGMII is supported.

As noted in section 4.6.3 of the datasheet, the DP83865 does support operation in 100Mbps in RGMII mode. Your interpretation of Note 2 for the table in section 6.5.1 is correct. The timing diagram on page 77 (in section 6.5.1) is suitable for all modes of operation, 10/100/1000.

Hi Patrick,
Thanks for the answer. Just to confirm this means that all the setup and hold time are exactly the same as shown in the table in section 6.5.1 irrespective of the mode except for the clock period as indicated in note 2.
