About STB pin of SN65HVDA1040A-Q1.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVDA1040A-Q1

Dear, All

There is a question to STB pin of SN65HVDA1040A-Q1 from a customer.
The question contents are following 2.
(1) There is a diode in a block diagram of STB pin from VCC, and next there is constant current source.
Is this constant current source equivalent pull-up resistor?
(2) Please tell min and max of the resistance value in case of equivalent pull-up resistor.

Thanks, Masami M.

  • Hello Michino-san,

Yes, this current source does act as a pull-up resistor in the sense that it helps to bias the input to a high state when it is left floating (high impedance) in the application. The resulting input current ranges for both high- and low-level inputs are given in the Electrical Characteristics table as items 10.3 and 10.4 (see page 9 of the current version of the datasheet). These ranges can be used to determine the required strength of any external circuitry driving this pin.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best regards,
    Max
  • Hi, Max-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
I answer it to the customer.

    Thanks, Masami M.
