Sorry for this delayed response. If the 10m Cat 5 cable link has SN75LVDT1422 on both sides, there should be no problem sending/receiving data at 300Mbps and below. For more link robustness, I'd recommend also using an LVDS repeater device, such as LVDS100 (http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/sn65lvds100.pdf) on the receiving end.
