I2C communication and EMC for DS90UB913A-Q1/914A-Q1

Hi,

My customer is requested for below questions.
Please tell us about the related information.

1. Normally, I2C of DS90UB913/914 control for image sensor of camera. But customer wants to upgrade for SW data of camera through I2C

Please check if there is a problem when this concept.

2. Do you have test report for I2C communication when the power transmits with Fakra?
-> Distance test, Error rate, etc…

3. Do you have test report for EMC when the power transmits with Fakra?
-> real application example and test data.

4. She wants to see I-Pattern for data of DS90UB913AQ/914AQ through equipment
She want to recommend equipment and equipment companys.
Please provide if you have related data.

Thanks & Regards

  • Hello Mason,

    1. I do not understand the concept that your customer is trying to implement. Can you please clarify?

    2. We do not have an official test report , however assuming the customer follows our app note here, with power over coax transmission on the 913A/914A devices we support up to 15m of coaxial cable. Forward-channel bit-error rate here is typically < 10^-9 for long cable lengths and typically < 10^-10 for shorter cable lengths; I2C bit-error rates will be very similar.

    3. Yes, we pass EMI/EMC certification. The report can be distributed with an NDA.

    4. By I-pattern, I am assuming you mean the eye diagram showing data transfer. We recommend > 4 GHz sampling scope (i.e. Tektronix) to sample the signal and also recommend > 3.5 GHz differential probe (i.e. Tektronix). The signal is sampled on the differential CMLOUT pins (+ and -) of the 914A deserializer. This CMLOUT output needs to be turned on with register 0x3f[4] = 0 through I2C.
