DS90UB926 Oscillator output continue after loss lock

Hello,

as I can read in datasheet there should be an option to provide the pclk after a cable link error was detected.

In the description is only a note that the frequency of the oscillator may be selected, but I can't find the register to change it. The frequency on the output is always (no cable connected) on 23.3MHz. If I try to change anything the frequency stays on 23.3MHz

My configuration:

PCLK: @ 74MHz

OEN: pull up to 3.3V

OSS_SEL: connected to LOCK with 10k resistor

Address Data
0x01 0x00
0x02 0xAA or 0xBA
0x03 0xF9
0x04 0xFE
0x05 0x2E
0x06 0x40
0x07 0x18
0x08 0x00
0x09

0x00

the rest is default

  • Hello Lukas,

My apologies for the delayed response.

This is a typo in the datasheet - the internal oscillator output to the PCLK pin on the deserializer with loss of link can only be set at at ~25 MHz like you were seeing. The datasheet will be updated accordingly.

In BIST mode, you have a choice of choosing either a 33 MHz or a 25 MHZ internal clock. In LFMODE = 1, your internal oscillator will be 12.5 MHz. In these modes, there is a possibility that the output PCLK will be different from the ~23.3 MHz you were seeing with loss of link.

    Best regards,

    Sean
