can TFP401A handle 1920x1080x60Hz with only EVEN bits output?

Hello.

I need to deserialize a 1920x1080@60Hz stream from HDMI to 24 bits RGB. Please notice that I will need only 24 bits, not 48, because I'm driving a RGB application.

Just to be extra clear, I will not be using the 24 ODD bits!

Will TFP401A be able to handle this configuration? What will be its clock in this situation?

Hello Lucas,

Yes, the tfp can handle that configuration. You have to set PIXS pin in high state (2-pixel/clock) and the even pixels will output at QE and odd pixels at QO. If you plan to use only even pixels, you could either leave QO open (this will generate noise) or connect them to gnd through a resistor. ODCK remains the same.

Hi Aldo, maybe I haven't been clear enough.

I need 100% of the FullHD stream to go through EVEN bits ONLY. That means, ODD bits will need to be turned off, i.e., PIXS in LOW state!

The question is will TFP401A be able to deserialize all the 1920x1080@60Hz stream to the EVEN bits?

In that case, yes, TFP401 can handle Full HD at QE output.
