Hi all,
Would you mind if we ask SN65HVD251?
We have some questions about "Split termination" with SN65HVD251.
Could you let know us it?
Kind regards,
Hirotaka Matsumoto

Hi Hirotaka,
Nice to see you.
The driver capability of the CAN driver is 50 mA, you are right.
For the CAN transceiver, the total load can exceed 60 Ohm, it is reasonable if the total load is between 45 Ohm and 65 Ohm. The 1.3 kOhm resistors are optional to slightly avoid the stub reflection. If you use 1.3 kOhm resistors, the number of nodes should be limited by the max load of 45 Ohm. On the other hand, if you want to add more nodes, you can use higher resistor value.
For the 3rd question, I don't know the exact value of the capacitor on each stub so i can't tell you whether the corner frequency is right or not.
Thank you for your question!
Best regards,
Vio Liu
Liu san,
Thank you for your reply.
<For the 3rd question>
The following document P13 shows the metohd of Low pass filter with Fc, and then,
if R value decrease we guess that Low pass filter with Fc increases.

Is our recognition correct?
