DS90CR287/DS90CR288A valid signals

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90CR288A, DS90CR287

Hi,

Actually i am using DS90CR287/DS90CR288A (28-bit channel link - 85MHz) chip set. I have a doubt on using the valid signals, i want to utilize data valid (DVAL) without using FVAL & LVAL, is this case is acceptable ?

please share me the information about how the valid signals are dependent on each other ?

and also please share me the waveforms of the DS90CR287/DS90CR288A for better understanding.

Thanks in advance

  • Hi Surendra,

You must have FVAL and LVAL. I am unsure of how you plan to display the pixel information on the screen properly without a LVAL (HSYNC) or FVAL (VSYNC). These signals are Camera Link requirements in order to notify the endpoint display that an end-of-line has been reached and an end-of-frame has been reached. The LVAL signal will pulse to indicate the end of a horizontal line and the beginning of the next line below, and the FVAL signal will pulse to indicate the end of an entire frame and the beginning of a new one.

The DS90CR287/DS90CR288A do not produce these signals on their own, but rather they serialize/deserialize this information on LVDS2+/-. For a better explanation of how the FVAL and LVAL signals are required, please see an example below, and note the location and frequency at which the HSYNC and VSYNC signals pulse in relation to each line and frame:

    Thanks,

    Michael
