On the DP83849I datasheet, the output high/low current (IOL/IOH) in the "8.1 DC Specs" is 4 mA, but load current in the "Figure 3" is approximately 20mA (3.3V/165Ω).

What is the maximum output current for each LED output pin? Is it 20mA?

Hi,

In the Figure 3, if the supply voltage (VCC) is 3.3V and the forward voltage (VF) on LEDs is 2.64V the output sink current on each LED output pin can be 4mA.

The maximum output (sink/source) current for each LED output pin, is it ±4mA?

The device should be able to operate safely with current drives of 5-10mA.

Hi Patrick,

I have an additional question.

If the output current exceeds 4mA, do the output voltages meet specifications (VOL/VOH) in "DC Specs"?

The device will still meet the VOL/VOH DC specifications if the output current exceeds 4mA.

The device should not be operated with current drive above 10mA.
