TCA9548A: 10-bit addressing

Hi,

the I2C-MUXes uses 7-bit addressing (e.g. TCA9548A). Is it possible to send/recieve data from an I2C circuit on the other side of the MUX that is using 10-bit addressing..?

MASTER (MCU) <-> MUX <-> 10-bit slave

Hello,

Let me make sure I am understanding your question correctly.

You want to use a TCA9548A to interface between a 10-bit capable master with a 10-bit slave?

I do not see any issues with this since the 10-bit addressing scheme works like a regular address transaction, except that it takes place over 2 "transactions/ACKs". Since the address used in the first byte will not match the TCA9548A, the device will simply ignore it and pass it on to the slaves.
