TLK2711 at reduced data rates

Dear all,

Basically, we wanted to use TLK1501 and TLK2501 to transmit/receive data at rates of 0,6Gbps and 1,2Gbps.

But they are not compatible with our application due to their specific K-code usage (we need a full K-code control), therefore it seems that only TLK2711 supports K-code control.

1) In this way, I'd like to know if the TLK2711A can work at a reduced speed of 0,6Gbps to 1,2Gbps?

2) There is may be a way to use half of the bandwidth?

3) If not, is there any way to adapt TLK2501/1501 to control K-codes as TLK2711 does?

Hi Francois,

Unfortunately, we do not have any TLK device that supports 0.6Gbps - 1.2Gbps and K-code control. TLK2711 supports the K-code but is not possible reduce the bandwidth from 1.5 - 2.5Gbs to 0.6 - 1.2Gbs.

Hi and thanks for your reply.

Do you think it is possible to clock at 80Mhz and use half of the bandwidth, for instance by fixing the LSB with comma code K28.5 and using the MSB for data transmission?

There would not be any issue in using the TLK2711 in this fashion.
