PCA9306 IBIS model min typ max

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCA9306

Hi,

In PCA9306 IBIS model,

There is C_comp parameter and there are min, typ and max.

And there are current value per each C_comp.

Question is

Does min value mean minimum of C_comp not current?

Thanks.

  • Hello Adam,

Typically, the Min, Typ, and max values define the window of variance you will see across a large sample of devices.

You are correct that min value means the minimum of C_comp, not the current value.

  • Hi Jonathan,

Could you provide a relationship between C_comp and series current to the customer?
Customer couldn't understand clearly, why lower C_comp shown higher current value than higher C_comp.
    Thank you.

    Best Regards,

    Jade

  • Hello Jade,

There is more to this relationship than C_comp. The C_Comp by itself should not play a drastic role on the series current, but instead of any rise or fall times. It sounds like the other variables are being changed while C_Comp is changing, causing this apparently large change in current.

I would suggest taking a look at the www.ti.com/.../slyt390.pdf app note which shows how the IBIS model and the C_Comp are used.
  • Hi Jonathan,

Please refer PCA9306 IBIS model script.

This model C_comp is "0" but still shown current min value is higher than max value.
Not only this model but also several C_comp "0" model show similar results.
You can see sometimes min value is higher than max value and sometimes min value is lower than max value.
They think min value is always lower than max value when C_comp is 0 condition.
    Could you check their question?
    Thank you.
