SN75LVDS82 or SN65LVDS822 powered down but LVDS active?

Hi,

In my application I intend on the transmit being powered all the time, but the display has the ability to shut off, as does the flatlink receiver(SN75LVDS82 or SN65LVDS822) to save power. I’m worried there may be a condition where the LVDS is still on but the Flatlink is off powered down, and that destroys/degrades the the part?

There are no concerns regarding device deterioration or damage due to active inputs during Shutdown Mode.

Thanks Diego,

The receiver won't be in shutdown mode the part will be physically powered off but will have its LVDS inputs actively driven. Will that be an issue?

Hi Calum,

There won't be any problem in that scenario, all input pins of LVDS822 have fail-safe protection that prevents damage from occurring before power supply voltages are high and stable.
