Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD2E001, TPD2E2U06, TPD1E6B06, TPD4S012, TPD4E1U06

for single usb (Micro-USB , will not use a HOST mode), found TPD2E001 suitable, because he protect D+, D- and VBUS.

I haven’t found any newer alternative in TI site. Please let me know if this the best IC for that cause ?

  • My suggestion is TPD2E2U06 for the data lines and TPD1E6B06 for the VBUS. They both have robust ESD protection, with low clamping voltages during the ESD event.

You might also look at our TPD4S012.

  • Hi Guy

What are the advantages using these two ESD device over the one TPD2E001?

    Thanks

    Eli

  • The difference will be in the clamping voltage. The clamping voltage is the voltage presented to the system during an ESD event. For the 2 devices I suggested it is < 20 V, for the TPD2E001 it is > 60 V.

  • Hi Guy
Thank you again for the information, but still…
TPD2E2U06 and TPD1E6B06 protects only data lines.

TPD4S012 is a good solution, the problem is the “high” leakage current: up to 500nA.

That’s why I looked for better alternative. found it only at: TPD2E001 (and want to hear your advice)

I want ONE part to protect the D+ D- lines and VBUS. (I don’t need for the ID, cause I’m not using the OTG option. Although I can just connect two pins to one line. So it’s not critical).
  • Hi Eli,

We don't have a 3-channel ultra-low leakage device. But we have 4 channel - TPD4E1U06 will protect Vbus and the two data lines.
