I looking for a solution to enable hot plugging 1 to 4 devices on a RS485 bus or something like that. I have to transmit 2Mbit/s using a twisted pair cable. Most of the data will flow from the master to the slaved, but the slaves have to send something back when requested by the master (so there should be no collisions). The devices have a connection wire that’s about 2m long. I expect this “stubs” will be a problem. So I need some isolation/bridging on the connection point. Is there a solution available for this? Data corruption while connecting is not really an issue. Thanks!
