About power dissipation of TSB12LV32+TSB41AB1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSB12LV32, TSB41AB1

It's the first time for me to design 1394 interface with TSB12LV32+TSB41AB1.

Could anybody give me an estimation about the power dissipation of this chipset?

Thx.

  • The TSB12LV32's power consumption will depend on your specific implementation, wo it is not really possible to comment on this without understand what your overall system implementation will be and what application you are trying to implement.

  • Basicly, they are used to receive an HD camera video stream at about 60Mbps. According the datasheet, the power requirement of these 2 chips are quite high.

So I want to get a rough idea of the power dissipation of a typical design.

    Thanks.

  • The TSB41AB1 will consume approximately 45 mA during normal operation,  a maximum power budget of 60 mA should be used.

The TSB12LV32 will consume approximately 100 mA during normal operation, a maximum power budget of 120 mA should be used.

The normal operation power consumption describes the TSB12LV32 + TSB41AB1 application when connected to the 1394 bus and actively sending and receiving traffic.
