Hi Patrick,
The DS125DF410 is more than needed for just 1.25 Gbps SGMII applications. Most all of our BRxxx devices will support the SGMII interface using AC coupling. The best device for this application will come down to the number of lanes to support and any layout requirements specific to the design.

Hi Lee,
Do DS110DF111 or DS125DF111 support SGMII 1G also? We have design that connects one 1G port to ETH PHY 2m away? Do you any suggestion about this case? Can I use this retimer at two sides of SGMII serdes and PHY?
Thanks & Regards,
Tien Vo
Hi Tien,
Both DS1xxDF111 devices will operate at the 1.25 Gbps SGMII datarate. In the DS110DF111 it is part of the default configuration. At the 1.25 Gbps datarate there isn't too much attenuation in the transmission line so multiple signal conditioning devices are not required. A cost effective solution for SGMII is one DS64BR111. On the transmit side it offers de-emphasis and on the receive side there is a CTLE. This combination is enough for SGMII applications. An alternate device is the DS25BR110 which is includes a receive CTLE (continuous time linear equalizer). One of these devices could be placed near the SerDes Rx and the other near the PHY Rx.

Lee
