Usb multiplexer , single input from the wireless device usb receiver and 2 same output

Hell Dear E2E community, i have a little confusion.  we know about the wireless power point presentation controller, which has a little usb type receiver which we attach to the computer, i need a circuit or some dedicated IC by which we can attach to the usb receiver and produce 2 same signals to be feed to the 2 different computer to do the same thing, like if the usb receiver receive the command of moving the presentation to the left then it the IC should send the same command to to both computer,

Kindly check the picture and give me your valuable suggestions.

Regards

Ali

  • Hello,
This can not be done with USB if you want it real-time.
The wireless pointer is a USB Device, in this case, each Laptop has a USB Host controller, the USB is a Host-based communication, so only one laptop can be connected to the USB Device at a time.
We do have USB switches that can select one of the laptops to be communicating with the USB Device, but every time you switch from one to another laptop the USB Device will be re-enumerated.

  • Hello Thanks for the input then is there anyway this can be done ? like if we use fast switches then the same data can be sent to both laptops ? is there a way we can save the data coming from usb in some place and send it the laptop by using some other controller  ?

    Kindly guide me.

    Regards

  • Hello Ali,

It "may" work in following way. It is complex (as well as much costly due to customization ) and requires good knowledge of USB protocol. You may contact some USB IP developers if you are really interested in developing this.
