SN65HVDA195-Q1 CAN transceiver with smaller package

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVDA195-Q1, SN65HVDA1040A-Q1

Hello,

Please would you know if we had a similar CAN transceiver to the SN65HVDA195-Q1, but with smaller package? this does not have to be q100.

Its for my customer Plextek, they are going with NXP, as they have been able to find package sizes smaller than our 8Pin SOIC D size, I would like to be able to push our solution further if we have one.

Kind Regards

Linda

  • also, this is a fairly cost sensitive application.
  • I moved your question to the interface forums since they support these devices. You should get a quicker answer here.
  • Hi Linda,

The SN65HVD195 is a LIN transceiver not a CAN transceiver. CAN and LIN both go into the automotive space but they are different topologies and signaling technologies. Is your customer looking for CAN or LIN?

We only offer the LIN transceiver in the 8 pin SOIC package but we offer some of our CAN transceivers in different packages. For instance the SN65HVDA1040A-Q1 device is offered in the 8 pin SOIC and the 8 pin VSON.

We are looking into doing some our new CAN transceivers and LIN transceivers in smaller packages so if you could provide me some feedback on what the customer is looking for it would help me drive this through the systems team. Also, could you provide me with your customers name, application, and volumes (if you have it).
