Hello,

We are using the DS90UB913 and DS90UB914 pair to transmit data in 720p30fps mode (camera to MCU). During PCB assembly, there was a slight mixup and we have paired the DS90UB913A with the DS90UB914Q.

Is this something that needs to be rectified? We see that nearly all pairs are functional.

Hello,

Yes, these parts are compatible. The A versions support coax or STP, while the non-A versions only support STP. The PCLK frequency range is also different for the A vs. non-A. As long as STP is used, and the frequency falls within the range of both parts, then it's fine.

Oops, ours is basically this picture. We have 13A and 14Q. Based on your reply, I'm surprised it works at all.

Oops, ours is basically the picture from the DS90UB914A-Q1 website. Power over coax, 13A and 14Q. Based on your reply, I surprised it works at all.

I'm looking at PCLK, it's 82MHz (but has a 26MHz, 54MHz, to 83MHz transition period).

Hi Jason,

I've noted at the very top of the 14Q datasheet that the part requires "DC balance" whereas the 14A part makes no such claims. In out design, we are AC coupled on the input and both transmitter and receiver operate at 1.8V.

Doesn't this count as DC balanced?
