DS90UR910Q or other for camera extension

We think about an application which needs a 50-60 cm flex cable between a camera and the processor's MIPI CSI2 interface.

I'm not sure if we need a repeater for this. Do you have experience on this? Which IC is potentially suitable?

If I understood the datasheet of the DS90UR910Q right, it's only thought for 18/24 bit display links and not camera raw data, isn't it?

Hi RoBe,

The DS90UR910Q needs to be paired with a FPD-Link II serializer. The serializer is expecting a dRGB (18- or 24-bit RGB color) input format. The supported DS90UR910Q CSI-2 output data type is 6'h24 for RGB888.

Thanks for the clarification. So the DS90UR910Q seems not to be suitable to extend the camera interface. Are there other devices which can be used for this application?

You may want to check out the DS90UB940 -- http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ds90ub940-q1.pdf You can pair it with 925 for CSI-2 RAW8/10/12.

Thanks! Quite expensive, but from the functionality what I looked for.

Is there also a compatible SER with MIPI Inputs (instead of the 925 with the parallel in)?

Hi Roland,

TI does not currently offer compatible serializers with MIPI Inputs.
