Hi Sir,

Customer need a 2:1 MUX for 1Gb Ethernet MDI/MDIX interface? they would like to share 2 PHYs with 1 RJ-45 connector.

I think the SN74CB3Q3257 might be okay for it, could you help to advise if it is okay?

If not, please help to provide a suggestion.

Hi Patrick,

The MUX you shared with us doesn't have enough bits to support 1Gb Ethernet. 1Gb Ethernet uses 4 differential pairs for a total of 8-bits. My other concern would be impedance matching of the differential pairs because this part has its MUXed output pins in different place requiring traces to be crossed over.
