Do I need to own a company to buy a microcontroller?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HD3SS215

Hi everybody,

I just need some input on this. I don't own a company and I'd like to order a hdmi switch from TI for a personal project. I'm not a student, it's been about 7 years since I finished university. The differential switch I want is: HD3SS215

How do others order from here, does everybody have a company registered or something?

Best to you all,

Razvan

  • Hi Razvan,

You definitely do not need to own a company or even be part of a company to purchase or use our parts!  Since this part is outside of my pervue, I am going to move this post, but you can order our parts through many sources -- from TI (directly) you can get samples of many parts for free.  You can order any multiple of units from distributors like Digikey and Mouser as well for very reasonable prices.

If you have any questions regarding the use of our Logic parts, please come back and visit the Logic forums!

  • Hello Razvan,

For low volume orders, your best bet is to go to an online distributor and order from them. Websites such as digikey or mouser keep stock of TI products and deal with low volume purchases. TI does not generally sell devices directly to customers.

Another thing is that you can sample devices off of our website (in the samples/order tab, you'll see a sample button).

You'll find many electronics hobbyists on the E2E forums, and for most devices, they go through online distributors.

    Regards,
    Jonathan
  • Thank you very much for the quick answer this has been of very much help.
    I wish you the best!

recently TI started to sell parts online and I found this from our TI store for your HD3SS215 requirement  . you can register with TI on any of your email id and request for free samples if available or purchase them for a reasonable price too.

you can also view datasheets and technical documents associated with the part alongside it in the tabs .

Good luck and let know any other devices you need for application .
