SN75DP130 is the HBR2 5.4Gbps mode without I2C settings.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN75DP130

In our project there is no I2C available. Is this possible to run the SN75DP130 on factory-default settings and support HBR2 mode for UHD resolution?Or it's mandatory to preset the chip via it's I2C interface to use with DP 1.2?

All HBR resolutions are working fine on my prototype up to WQHD but when changed to HBR2 frequencies (UHD@60Hz resolution) the is no image on target monitor at all.

Do I have to preset the DPCD register via I2C to modify LINK_BW_SET to enable HBR2 mode?

  • Hi Andrzej,

Default settings without I²C should work for all data rates supported by SN75DP130.

SN75DP130 only monitor commands in AUX channels, you need to be sure your source is setting the register LINK_BW_SET (100h) to 14h for 5.4Gpbs per lane, in order for SN75Dp130 to perform training correctly.
