About RGMII interface mode

Hi,

I am looking at 24 pages of DP83867 data manula. http://www.tij.co.jp/jp/lit/ds/symlink/dp83867ir.pdf

It' about "8.4.1.1.3 10/100 Mbps Mode" when the RGMII interface select.  There is following mentioning.

The MAC will hold RGMII TX_CLK low until it has ensured that it is operating at the same speed as the PHY.

1) I checked RGMII Reference guide and ohter phy chip manual.

The correct one is not RGMII TX_CLK but TX_CTRL, I suppose. Would you please confirm it?

#In RGMII v1.3 document, it says as follows: http://www.hp.com/rnd/pdfs/RGMIIv1_3.pdf

The MAC will hold TX_CTL low until it has ensured that it is operating at the same speed as the PHY.

2) What do you mean by "the same speed as the PHY"?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but please let me know.

Best Regards,

Taka
