DP83849I or 2 DP83848I for a Powerlink interface

Hello,

for a new design, where I need to make a "hub" for the Powerlink interface - I was thinking to use only one dual PHY instead using two.

What will you advice me, when considering better availably and also for at least 8 year production for your new hardware?

Hi Xavier,

Either choice would be suitable and has the same support look ahead for production.

The DP83849 is a good choice for reducing cost and overall design footprint in this case.

The DP83848 is an extremely successful device in industrial applications.

Considering the place needed for the Layout, the DP83849 will indeed the best choose, as it will be the same considering production.
