XIO2001 and CC2650

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XIO2001, CC2650, TUSB1211

Has anyone used the XIO2001 PCIe to PCI bridge with a CC26xx or CC2650 device?

  • Hello Peter,

I am not aware of an implementation using the CC26xx, let me check with the team if there is a record of such application. please be more specific on what you need, is it a compatibility related concern?

    Regards,
    Diego.
  • Diego,

I am hoping to provide a USB 2.0 Host Controller function in my design and use the CC2650 as the MCU.  I am looking at the TUSB6020 and while this chip has the correct outputs, it uses a VLYNQ 2.0 Interface.  The CC2650 doesn't look like it supports this.

So my big question is how can I combine a CC2650 with another TI device that can together provide USB 2.0 control of four downstream USB devices?

    Thanks,

    Pete

  • Hello,

It seems like this MCU is not designed to support USB.
As you said, the TUSB6020 requires VLYNQ, the other option would be to use the TUSB1211 as the USB PHY and then use a USB 4-port Hub.
This TUSB1211 requires a ULPI interface.
Either way you will have to build into the MCU the VLYNQ or the ULPI interface which would be very complex.
I would recommend better to look for a MCU with USB interface and OTG capabilities.
Can you elaborate more on your application?
    Regards
