TPL0102 query

I am trying to use TPL0102 in the way shown in the pic,my question is that if I tie VSS to ground is the circuit will work or not? and I will tie VDD to 5 volts.

please help me out here.

Here in the pic HA LA WA are the pin of the TPL0102.

Thanks in advance.

  • Is your sine wave centered around 0V (GND)? If you have any negative voltage swing, you will need your VSS to be at a voltage lower than 0V. Basically, VSS should be at or below the lowest voltage you will see applied to a pin.
  • Actaullay I am trying to avoid the negative power supply I want to ground the the Vss pin.Ya my sin wave(amplitude 500mV) is Bipolar and mean is 0V.
Thats why I am using that divider to give the offset. The model is working fine on resistor model of the pot but I want to know for sure is it going to work if connect with TPL0102.

  • Sourodeep,

I now understand what you're trying to do, thanks for the explanation.

With that being said, I think you'll be ok connecting VSS to ground (And ground to ground). If the models are showing the voltage applied to the H pin are always positive, then you should have no issues with this approach.
