Dear Sir 

I'm happy that TI have new HDMI re-timer solution

As I know previous solution DS34RT5110 could support 4k/2k/30 with 24AWG 75ft HDMI cable

But when I saw SN65DP159's datasheet  ,there is no information about the cable length

Is SN65DP159 suit for HDMI cable extender ,we would like to replace MAX3815A

    Hi Kai,

    SN65DP159 is a retimer from DP++ to TMDS, MAX3815A is a TMDS equalizer, we have an equivalent circuit TMDS141 supporting HDMI 1.3a.
    About the cable length, is hard to say how long it can be because it doesn't depend just on wire gauge.
    If you know your cable loss (dB/m) you could know how long can be the cable so redriver can recover the signal.
    TMDS141 has an input equalization of 8dB, in the next weeks we will release a new device with better performance, I'll contact marketing representative so he can share information with you.
