XIO3130 unused pins issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XIO3130

Hello.

We're going to use XIO3130 in our device. And now we have a question about unused pins.

We are not going to use EEPROM on I2C bus.

So the questions are:

1. Can we leave SCL and SDA pins floating or we have to connect them to VCC or GND?

2. How must be unused and reserved pins (RSVD) connected: to ground, to VCC or leave them floating?

  • Section 3.4.1 of the Data Manual says:

If no external EEPROM is required, the serial bus interface is permanently disabled by attaching a pulldown resistor to the SCL signal.

It doesn't say anything about SDA, but to prevent the pin from floating, you should use a pullup (just as if there were an I²C bus).

    Table 2-11 says:

A13, B12     These terminals must tied to VDD15.
C04, P01     This terminal must be tied to GND.
D04     Pullup to Vaux (if supported) or VDD3.3 (if not)
