DS80PCI800 VDD pins connection in 3.3V mode + 4-Level input tollerance

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS80PCI800

Hello,

We have started layount using DS80PCI800 in 3.3V mode. Can All VDD pins in this mode be connected to one plane as shown in 2.5V mode in figure 14 of the datasheet or just each capacitor should be connected seperately? We also see on the eval board schematic that for both modes this pins are connected together.

Also we would like to know if we can use a 22kOhm resistor instead of 20KOhm for achieving level R in 4-Level input voltage (table 1, page 14 on datasheet)?

  • Hi Rafi,

All for VDD pins on the DS80PCI800 can be connected together via a small power plane area.  Nothing other than the local decoupling capacitors should be connectoed to this plane. The internal regulator inside the DS80PCI800 is only intended to supply current to the device itself - no other loading is allowed.

It is okay to use a 22K instead of a 20K resistor.

    Best Regards,

    Lee
