TCA9543 - Protocol

I would like to connect to the TCA9543 to two slaves which uses a slightly modified I2C protocol for the communication between master and the two slaves. (see picture below) .

When writing/reading to/from the TCA9543 the master uses the specified I2C protocol (UM10204, Rev.6, 4. April 2014).

The timings and electrical parameters meets the I2C spec and the spec of the TCA9543.

Does this work?

  • Hello Bernold,

I would be glad to answer your question, but you did not include a picture of your protocol.

To include pictures, click on "Use rich editor" when you press the reply button (its to the right of the box), then you will be taken to a more feature-rich reply box. You can see the icon of a picture (to the left of the paperclip in the toolbar), click that to add a photo. Make sure after you upload the photo to press "Insert" for it to actually be added to your post. You should see your image in the post/reply box.

However, Assuming that your protocol complies with I2C's requirements, then you should have no issues interfacing with the TCA9543. The TCA9543 is compatible with I2C and SMBus protocol.
