Please let me know about USB (Audio) Switch roadmap, because customer is looking for below spec.

※I want to check whether or not there matching device.

-----------------------------

・Vcc:3.3V or 5V

・1:2 line ・Supporting USB Type-C and Audio

 (Negative swing:-1.0V)

・Control signal:1 line (High/Low)

・Bandwidth:1GHz

・Low Con and Low Ron

・Better: Low THD, CDP support

・TS3USBA225 is NG, because wiring routing is difficult.

 (R pin and L pin)

  • Satoshi-san,

We are currently developing an audio over USB Type-C EVM using using the TPS65982, TS5USBA224, TS3A227E devices. We have prototype boards in house that we are currently testing.

What do you think about the TS5USBA224 as a USB audio switch instead of the TS3USBA225?

    Thank you,
    Adam
  • Dear Adam-san

    Thank you for reply.

At first, customer evaluated TS5USBA224, but this device was large attenuate on 1GHz BW.

    (TS3USBA225 is clear)

Is there preview device of meet the requirement spec?

Additional information, customer said that Fairchild have (meet) device.

But I didn't find device in Fairchild's website.

    (I didn't find NXP and pericom,too)

    Best regards,

    Satoshi

  • Satoshi-san,

What is application that need for an audio switch to have 1Ghz bandwidth?

Audio signals are <20kHz and USB2.0 signals are < 240MHz. These signals are much less than 1GHz.

I look forward to your response.

    Application is Note-PC.

I'm being confirmed that background of necessary to "1GHz".

    Please wait a moment.

    Best regards,

    Satoshi

  • Adam-san

The reason of "1GHz" is below.

Customer thinking the margin of attenuete.
Because customer application is long wire length, and worring about attenuete.
1GHz margin is customer rure of thumb.

    Best regards,
    Satoshi
  • How long of a wire are they using? Based on applications I have seen from other customers 1Ghz bandwidth for USB 2.0 signal is a lot of margin.

What is the fairchild device that the customer is using?

    Thank you,
    Adam
  • Adam-san

    Wire lengh is 25cm(FPC~FFC).
Customer said Fairchild, but I didn't found maching device.
I think that customer using device is preview.

    Best regards,
    Satoshi
