SN65HVDA540-Q1 Power Up/down sequence

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVDA540-Q1

Hi Expert,

I confirmed datasheet of "SN65HVDA540-Q1".

According to this datasheet, user can input 3.3V to VIO and 5V to Vcc.

(Please refer to figure 16 Typical Application Using 3.3-V I/O Voltage Level and Low-Power Mode)

So, the question is

Could you please confirm whether there is any restriction at powering up / down ?

(Ex, 3.3V should be ramped up before 5V is ramped up. etc..)

Best Regards,

Machida

  • Hello Machida-san,

There isn't a particular sequence that is required when powering up the 3.3-V and 5-V rails of SN65HVDA540-Q1. You would just need to make sure that both rails are fully powered whenever the device is operating. There are undervoltage detection circuits on each rail, and below each rail's threshold (nominally 3.6 V for VCC and 2.5 V for VIO) the device will enter standby mode.
