TUSB8041-Q1 disable some original function on specified panel

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB8041-Q1, TUSB8041

I connect the developed circuit to specified panel, it disables the touch screen and some original function.

But through another USB hub to panel, it functions correctly.

And, downgrade to full speed, it functions correctly.

I try to connect to other PC/laptop, it also functions correctly.

I observe there are some devices in "Inter(R) N10/ICH7 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 27CC" before I connect TUSB8041-Q1 to the panel.

After connecting, they disappeared.

  • Hi Juhnny,

This appears to be a USB 2.0 host, is that correct? Have you tried updating the Intel N10/ICH7 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 27CC driver? Some of the older USB 2.0 host controller drivers have issues when hubs or devices reports themselves as USB 2.1 compatible as the TUSB8041 does.

    Thanks,
    JMMN
  • It works on USB 2.0 host.
I try to update, it says the version "9.1.1.1016" is up to date.

  • Does it has any solution to solve this problem?

  • Hello Juhnny,

Can you download the usbview.exe utility from Microsoft and send a screen capture of what the USB tree looks like when the hub is attached?  Can you also send a screen capture of the device manager status?

    Thanks,

    JMMN

  • unattached usb hub as above

    attached hub as above

    unattached usb hub as above

    unattached usb hub as above

    attached usb hub as above

  • Which devices are disappearing after the hub is attached? Can you try removing the devices downstream of the TUSB8041 (the devices attached to the TUSB8041) as a test? If there are driver issues with those devices, the rest of the USB tree will not enumerate. From the screen captures you provided, all the USB hub drivers and connections appear to be correct.

    Thanks,
    JMMN
  • The devices are touch screen and gps chip disabled after TUSB8041 attached.

I remove all the downstream of TUSB8041 and try again.

when hub attached, the device manager refresh 2 times.

In first time, the touch screen is disabled.

    In second time, it recovers.

Then, attach device to TUSB8041, it disables touch screen.

The devices i tried are mouse, usb storage.

  • Does the problem only occur with the GPS chip and touch screen? Does it occur with just the mouse or USB storage? If it is limited to GPS and touch screen, can you provide the manufacturer so we can purchase for internal test?

    Thanks,
    JMMN
  • The GPS chip and touch screen are built in devices, and i did not see other device on panel.
I just try devices i can find, so i am not sure whether if problem occurs on other devices.
    The GPS chip is UBLOX/NEO-6T-0-000.
