TPS5200 protection from short

Use case: TPS5200 is powering a USB port.

Situation: TPS5200 is on, and then a wall charger gets plugged into the USB port that supplies 5V. What happens to the chip, does it short? Will the chip get wrecked?

Would the situation differ if the voltage was 9V?

Trying to understand how the device is protected.
