POWER OVER ETHERNET USING DP83620

HELLO TI,

I AM WORKING ON A PROJECT FOR WHICH I HAVE TO MAKE AN ETHERNET PHY INTERFACE.

I HAVE AT PRESENT SELECTED DP83620 IC, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER IT IS POSSIBLE TO IMPLEMENT POWER OVER ETHERNET USING THIS IC AS A PART OF THE TOTAL CIRCUIT? IF YES, CAN I HAVE SOME REFERENCES WHICH I COULD USE TO PROCEED WITH THE SAME.

    Hello Sooraj,

    We do not have a DP83620 PoE reference design but we do have a DP83848I PoE reference design. See the PoE-PD reference design here: www.ti.com/.../snoa476c.pdf

    To begin a PoE solution with the DP83620, you could start by replacing the DP83848I in the above reference design with the DP83620.

    Thank you Rob Rodrigues , I am extremely sorry,but I would like to have an optical fiber interface too alongwith the usual copper connection, DP83620 has fiber interface support DP83848I doesnt have that. 

    Would you please suggest any other IC which is very much similar to DP83848I and DP83620 which has fiber support too....

    I will go through the pdf link and try to replace DP83848I with DP83620 and try to work on it.
