HDMI 2.0 4K @ 60fps (4.2.2 or 4.4.4) Support

Hi,

I have a few questions regarding TI's HDMI 2.0a and 2.0b products...

Does the SN75DP159 and TMDS181 support true HDMI 2.0 with full 4K at 60fps versions 4.2.2 or 4.4.4 (or products that do)?

The closest thing is Panasonic's MN864777 (TX) and MN684778 (RX). These products support true HDMI 2.0.

Are there products that support multiple stream configurations, 3G/6G/12G, and that can combine them?

Hi Mauricio,

SN75DP159 and TMDS181 support up to 6Gbps per lane, this results in 18Gbps in total, allowing 4k@60Hz, 8 bits per color, chroma sampling 4:4:4.

Does the datasheet explain how this configurations are set up for each device? I was not able to find this information on the datasheets. Are there any documents that will clarify this?

For both devices you can review their datasheet section: "Device Functional Modes",

For SNx5DP159 see table 7,

For TMDS181 see table 6

address 0Ah, bits 1:0, DEV_FUNC_MODE; It explains the functional modes and how to configure them.
