TPS65982 / "Identity Descriptors" in configuration tool

Hi Team,

My customer couldn't  catch how to set the "Identity Descriptors" in configuration tool for his system.

I believe it isn't required to set if his system is DFP(host) only.
Is my understanding correct?

    Yaita,

    You are correct if Port Type in System Configurations == 110b (Pull-Up, Ip) only.

    If the system is DRP in any way, SOP will be required but the OEM may not be able to fill in the correct info until later in the testing period.

    This is why we insert default SOP responses to ensure any DRP will respond with a PD compliant answer to "Discover Identities".
