About TPS65982

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65982

Dear Sirs

We want to know how to create correct TPS65982 FW by the TPS65982 Configuration Tool.

There are two condition for TPS65982 application.

  1. INTEL Alpine Ridge + TPS65982 *1 (1-port thunderbolt application)
    1. Power delivery: Power sink (<15W , Voltage range 12V~20V)
    2. Alternate mode: Thunderbolt only (end point mode)
    3. Supports Sideband Port Multiplexer.
    4. Supports USB2.0 (top/bottom) Multiplexer.

Note:  The Alpine Ridge and TPS65982 are share same SPI flash.

  1. Alpine Ridge + TPS65982 *2 (2-port thunderbolt application)
    1. Power delivery: Power source for each port (<15W, High voltage:12V @ 1.25A ; low voltage: 5V @ 1A)
    2. Alternate mode: Thunderbolt (end point or router mode), Display (source)
    3. Supports Sideband Port Multiplexer
    4. Supports USB2.0 (top/bottom) Multiplexer.
    5. USB 3.1

Note:  The Alpine Ridge and two TPS65982 are share same SPI flash.
