LVDS324 to camera sensor distance

Hi,

we are looking for a better understanding of the distance that can be reached between camera sensor and host.

the LVDS324 is designed to interface to a set of camera sensor output Aptina HiSPi, Sony LVDS, and these sensor are for example AR0331, AR0330, AR0132, MT9M024.

I we assume that the sensor is operated at lower framerate and the Pixel Clock is 75MHz, or 37.5MHz. Given the 4-lane LVDS being used with the LVDS324, is there an estimate of the distance between sensor and host, that could be achieved with this technology?

Thanks,

  • Hello Gunter,

The distance would be determined by the sensor itself, since it is the serial transmitter. The SN65LVDS324 does not have any signal compensation block and should work fine as long as the input signal meets the recommended operating conditions.

    Diego.
