One 1920x1080 Display(LVDS or FPDLink) driven by two different controllers?

Hi,

Is it possible for two different micro controller systems to drive a  single TFTLCD panel (with 1920x1080 LVDS or FPDLink) ?

Any idea , if portions of the panel show some information from one controller and remaining portions display graphics from the other controller?

  • Hi Ravi,

I do not think this is possible, because you would need to have some kind of way to synchronize the timing between the two MCUs if you want to drive a single display together. Normally each MCU solution operates with an independent crystal oscillator reference.

Is there a reason why you want to implement such a design, and if so, did you have any SerDes products in mind for accomplishing this?

    Thanks,

    Michael
