DP83848CVV/NOPB Electrical Pinout vs Mechanical

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83848C

Hello,

I am looking to integrate this part into my design.  The pinout table in the march 2015 datasheet calls for a pin 49 for GNDPAD.

This consistent with the Pin Layout Diagram in Section 4.1 and the Package Pin Assignments table in section 4.2 for the extended and extreme temp versions of this device.  The pin layout diagram is shown for the HLQFP package only.

Since I am targeting a commercial temp part, I should be referencing the PT drawing (S-PQFP-G48) at the end of the datasheet.  This drawing does NOT show a ground pad connection, but the Package Pin Assignments table in section 4.2 shows a GNDPAD @ pin 49.

So is there a GNDPAD connection on the PQFP or not?TI DP83848x DATASHEET 25-SEP-2015.pdf

The datasheet that I am referencing is attached.

Thanks,
Mazen

  • Mazen,

There is no GNDPAD for the PQFP package (used for the DP83848C). This is reflected in the datasheet via the mechanical data for the PT (S-PQFP-G48) package. In contrast to the mechanical data for the PTB (S-HLQFP-G48), no pad is indicated in the diagram for the PT (S-PQFP-G48).
