DS92LV0421 will it work?

hi,

I am working on DS92LV0421serializer, in pg23 of the device datasheet slns325c.pdf. it mentioned:

When operating the devices in Normal Mode, the Video Control Signals (DE, HS, VS) have the following restrictions:

• Normal Mode with Control Signal Filter Enabled:

– DE and HS — Only 2 transitions per 130 clock cycles are transmitted, the transition pulse must be 3PCLK or longer.

• Normal Mode with Control Signal Filter Disabled:

– DE and HS — Only 2 transitions per 130 clock cycles are transmitted, no restriction on minimum transition pulse.

• VS — Only 1 transition per 130 clock cycles are transmitted, minimum pulse width is 130 clock cycles.

My question is I am using YUV422 which do not have DE, HS, VS signal, so if I used the "Normal mode with control Signal Filtered Disabled.". Can I just put the DE, HS, VS to  0 value. Will the serializer still work?

Rgds,

Felix

  • Greetings Felix,

Control signals were meant to be used for low speed data transport. In this case, for video application, one can use DS92LV021/22 to transport HS/DE?VS. With control signal filter disabled, there is no restriction on minimum number of transition. So you can force these control signals to 0 value.
